Ingredients
  • 250 g of flour
  • 2 eggs + 1 yolk
  • 65 g Occelli® butter
  • 65 g granulated sugar
  • 1/2 sachet of baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
  • 1 sachet of vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon anise liqueur
  • Salt to taste
Preparation

Procedure

Take a bowl and pour the flour into it . In the center, add eggs, sugar, butter, vanilla sachet, salt, grated lemon zest, yeast and a spoonful of anise liqueur.

Work all the ingredients until they are perfectly combined and form a dough .

Transfer the dough onto a previously floured surface and make some strings about a couple of centimeters thick. At this point, cut them into pieces and then form them into balls.

Arrange the balls obtained inside a plate and, a few at a time, fry them over a moderate heat in plenty of oil, turning them as they reach the desired browning and remove them only when they are well swollen.

At this point, remove them from the pan using a slotted spoon and place them on a sheet of absorbent paper.

Finally, roll the balls in sugar while still warm and serve hot.
