Ingredients
  • 125 g Occelli® butter
  • 380 g of condensed milk
  • 1 lemon
  • 200 g of brown sugar
  • 100 g of white chocolate
  • 120 g of roasted peanuts
Preparation

Fudge is a dessert that is not very well known in Italy, but is much loved abroad, where it is easily found even in the supermarket: it is made of cubes similar to large chocolates that are prepared with butter, condensed milk and other ingredients to taste. In fact, there are various types of fudge: chocolate, cappuccino, coffee, peanut butter.

In this recipe we offer you a very delicious version with milk and peanuts: with an irresistible caramel taste and with the crunchiness of peanuts to give an extra touch.

These sweets are obviously excellent to enjoy on their own, but they can also be used – crumbled or whole – to decorate and fill cakes, cupcakes and muffins.

Procedure

Cut the Occelli® butter into pieces and melt it over low heat in a saucepan.

When it is almost melted, always keeping the flame very low, add the condensed milk, two tablespoons of water acidulated with a few drops of lemon juice and the brown sugar. Stir well and continuously everything with a wooden spoon, until the mixture begins to boil.

From the moment it starts to boil, let the caramel cook for about 7-8 minutes, always without stopping stirring and always keeping the flame very low. At this stage it is important to make sure that the mixture does not stick and does not burn.

Once the caramel is removed from the heat, immediately add the white chocolate in pieces, stirring well to melt it completely. At this point, add the roughly chopped peanuts.

Then transfer the mixture to a baking tray lined with baking paper (or, if you have one, to a silicone mold that does not need the paper): after having leveled it with the help of a spatula, leave it in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

Once this time has passed, the fudge is well set, you can turn it out and cut it into many squares.
